  • Thanks for taking the time, being willing to dig further for some accurate data. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but it still astounds me that people are so passionate in their beliefs about other people's intentions. As if they could read minds. It's nice to see some facts for a change.

  • Ya, I'm sorry to say I'm not surprised. Years ago, perhaps because I was so impacted by the demonstrations of the 50's & 60's, I developed a strong interest in this phenomenon.

  • The most obvious missing fact here, is the rise in Apple's fortunes since Steve Jobs has been back at the helm. Take a look at the stock chart, since he came back to Apple in 1997. The company has made an astounding come back, and there's no obvious end to that in sight.

  • First, let me agree with several posters here that MS's problems are partially due to poor management and complacency. They don't have adequate competition, not because OS X and Linux are not good OS's but because people don't realize how easy and cost effective it would be to change.
